Artwork surface

Where your artwork is printed. Printed pouch: the artwork prints on the pouch itself. Pouch + pressure-sensitive adhesive label: a blank wholesale pouch you apply a separate adhesive label to — Prooflet suggests the largest label that clears the seals and closures. Shrink sleeves are not supported.

How far the heat-sealed edge extends into the pouch on each side. Artwork inside the seal band gets crushed by the sealing jaws, so the safe area starts after it. Your converter's spec sheet lists this value.

Artwork type: pressure-sensitive label. This is separate adhesive stock applied to the container. Shrink sleeves use different seams, distortion and shrink zones; Prooflet does not author them yet. Do not enter a shrink-sleeve dieline as label dimensions.

Tube application

Choose how the flat label file runs when it is applied to the tube. Landscape requires a custom rectangular dieline plus explicit cap-edge and front-half evidence. Catalogue-backed and tapered tube dies stay portrait until their independent application axes are published.

Landscape tube artwork can be authored and reviewed, but PDF/ZIP export remains blocked until the package records independent orientation evidence.

Tapered label

Moulded tubes are wider at one end, so a wrap label for one is die-cut as a trapezoid, not a rectangle. Take the narrow end width from your dieline when it prints both widths. Use the die-edge angle only when the narrow end is absent: dielines often round angles, and it is not the tube’s mould-draft angle. Wrapping a cone amplifies draft by about 3×, so the same 98 mm tube is drawn 0.5° on the moulder’s sheet and 1.7° on the converter’s die. Prooflet echoes the other figure back in your units; check it against your drawing.

Laminate finish

The physical film laminated to the pouch substrate (matte, soft-touch, gloss, satin). This is surface feel — "substrate intent" — not a print layer; it shows in the 3D preview and on the spec sheet.

Printed coating Adds a printed varnish separation. The laminate finish above is substrate intent, not ink.

A varnish printed as its own separation (an extra "ink" plate in the manufacturer file) — e.g. a full-surface matte varnish. Different from the laminate finish, which is a film, not ink. Leave as None unless your artwork spec calls for a coating.

Production preset Loads starting dimensions and process defaults. Confirm the final values with your converter; this is not converter approval.

A named starting point for pouch dimensions and print process. "Reference PCR 3.5g / 28g" are pre-child-resistant reference pouch sizes; flexographic / digital / rotogravure name the printing process your converter runs. Pick the closest one — every value stays editable.

Your pressure-sensitive label exports like any SKU: author the artwork, run the compliance check, and export the label package. Because this adhesive label IS the final label, every applicable required item must be pre-printed on it — choose Pre-print below, or export stays blocked by name. Shrink-sleeve artwork is not produced by this workflow.

These are the regulated facts Health Canada requires on the package (Total THC/CBD, lot, packaging date, licence-holder contact, storage, net quantity, and — for edibles/extracts — common name, ingredients, allergens, Nutrition Facts). Prooflet always collects them for compliance evidence even when they are applied later via a separate label. Leave any field blank to keep it as a conservative review item; nothing here is auto-assumed.

Next, Prooflet builds your pouch: the Health Canada warning and THC symbol are placed and locked automatically, and your colour and logo are applied. You can move and resize things in the editor — within the rules. The variable required information (lot, dates, THC/CBD values) is pre-printed on this artwork or applied later via a separate label — set that above. Fields marked “Value applied at packaging” pre-print their caption with an empty reserved zone your packaging line overprints — that is a deliberate reservation, not missing data. Export creates every required warning variant for this product type.
